Laura's Story

Laura Thompson

Smith Mountain Lake community leader & Harmony4Hope committee member lost both parents to lymphoma.

“Lymphoma has affected my life for the last 31 years. Lymphoma took a piece of my heart and continues to live in my mind daily. My father was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1994 and it claimed his life 4 years later at the age of 58. My mother was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1996 and it claimed her life in 2003 at the age of 60. It is a strange feeling to loose the two people who have been beside you your whole life. Your confidants, best friends and the ones who always gave you advice on everything.’

‘Bob’s story is a testament of how far Lymphoma treatment has come. I realize the importance of the Lymphoma Research Foundation.”
